Some funny Royal Wedding cartoons

The Royal Wedding is a global event

I don’t care much for British Royalty (or any royalty, for that matter) and am generally indifferent about their goings on. However, today’s wedding is a historical event whether we like it or not and, like most historical events, it won’t go away.

Well, until it becomes history, that is.

God save The Sex Pistols

I’ll probably watch bits of the Royal Wedding because I’m not one of those angry toy-throwing toddlers who whine about how pointless it all is. (In fact, they’re more entertaining than the event.)

Punk icon John Lydon who, like me, likes pointlessness, will probably also watch Kate say “I do” to a future with Willy and his Crown Jewels.

People think I hate the Royal Family, but that’s not true. My animosity is towards the institution, not the people themselves. What I’ve always resented with the Royals was the austere nonsense that was being propagated. But Willy and Katy look like they are genuinely in love and that’s all I look for. That is what is important in life. [John Lydon]

Speaking of John Lydon, here is one of the greatest bands performing (in 1977) a romantic little ditty for the Royal Highnesses. And if you don’t enjoy The Sex Pistols, well, then up yours.

Royal Wedding hysteria is everywhere

There are a lot of people who, for some odd reason, are really angry about this Royal Wedding thing. In fact, on Twitter, they’re even swearing and using lots of UPPERCASE LETTERS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!!11!!

I have no idea why. But it’s pretty funny.

I WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE ROYAL WEDDING, DONT EVEN TELL ME ABOUT IT WHEN YOU SEE ME. [@loyisogola]

The hysteria goes both ways, evidently.
