Royal Wedding hysteria is everywhere

There are a lot of people who, for some odd reason, are really angry about this Royal Wedding thing. In fact, on Twitter, they’re even swearing and using lots of UPPERCASE LETTERS AND EXCLAMATION MARKS!!!!!11!!

I have no idea why. But it’s pretty funny.

I WILL NOT BE WATCHING THE ROYAL WEDDING, DONT EVEN TELL ME ABOUT IT WHEN YOU SEE ME. [@loyisogola]

The hysteria goes both ways, evidently.

@ Brian, absolutely! I’m dying to see the dress and I’ll be watching the wedding from start to finish. Plus it’s a great excuse for a champagne breakfast.
I really think those people who object so vehemently are either jealous because their own lives suck or misunderstand the role the monarchy plays in uniting a country. It’s like World Cup Soccer all year round.

I think the Brits are brighter than we realise ….

@Taryn, I read the post; basically she asks “why the fuss”? My answer to that is: we fuss. Humans make a fuss about stuff; we made a fuss about the World Cup, we make a fuss about Brangelina when she has a baby or splits a hair; we make a fuss about Madiba when he’s ill so why in the name of little green men is everyone having a cadenza because people are choosing to make a fuss about the wedding?

I always wonder about people who object vehemently to something the majority of people want to do. It’s like the atheists, they object more vehemently about Christians doing what they do than the Christians object to the atheists doing what they do. It seems to me that there are people who like to believe that their beliefs or habits or thoughts are superior to those of others. Very George Orwell, methinks.

Leave the couple alone and leave us monarchy lovers alone. I’m thrilled about the wedding and can’t wait to see the dress, sip champagne with my friends and chat about something other than misery and mayhem for a change.

Those of you who object, keep your televisions switched off, don’t go onto the internet or twitter and find a comfortable rock far away from everyone else and go sit a while.
