With the announcement of Mac Maharaj being appointed as the presidential spokesman, it’s very difficult not to feel a sense of relief. He is a political heavyweight with some serious credentials behind him.
It’s going to be an interesting ride for Maharaj, and for our media. He’s certainly been around for long enough to bring some serious gravitas to the job. The problem is, once in that job, it can be hard to maintain that gravitas. We wish him luck. [The Daily Maverick]
