I thought I’d end the week with something patriotic.

If the Springboks win the Rugby World Cup, then they’ll become the first team to have done it three times, as well as twice in a row. It will be pretty historic.

Only one nation has reached a Rugby World Cup Final having previously lost a game in that tournament: this was England in 1991 and again in 2007. [Wikipedia]

In other words, the Springboks had better not lose any games. (Or they could and, you know, break some more world records along the way.)

South Africa’s cricket team might be known for choking during important games, but so is New Zealand’s rugby team known for choking during important games.

Like the Rugby World Cup.

Hopefully, the All Blacks will choke again, especially because the tournament is being hosted by them.
